First edit of my music video

This is my first edit for my music video, although I like some parts of it such as the beginning I feel that a lot could be improved for it to be the best it can be.  From putting it all together I have found that a lot of my footage is too long and would bore the audience at times therefore I need to film more and cut on the beat so that there is more going on. I understand that it is a slow song however there is still a beat which I can cut to so I would like to maintain the slowness of it as well as cutting to the beat to improve the large amounts of the same footage and add some depth to it.

Refining final advert

I have chose this particular image to use for my final advert, I really like the formal qualities (tones, colours, shapes, shadows positioning etc) mainly because of the positioning of the image as the artist  it quite central which makes her the main focal point and shows she is the most important part of the magazine with is then backed by the writing with her name being the biggest. I also like the colours, i purposely chose to put earth like colours on the model so it looks well with the forest and other surroundings, the colours are very light and kind of painting like, the photo reminds me of paintings and a lot of pictorialist work which is a movement from the 18th century, where there was debate that photography is a form of art not just a click of a button it is creative not just documentation etc. There is a lot of improves i need to make to this version of my advert, i would like to make the Jill Zimmerman, souls to fuse to stand out a lot more and look more seperate as well as making the urls a lot smaller so the audience isnt so fixed on them. I would also like to get rid of the out now in the corner as i dont feel it looks very good

Proposal of new song (souls to fuse)

I have decided to change my song for my music video to 'songs of fuse' by Jill Zimmerman. Jill is a singer songwriter who mainly does folk or indie music. The song I have chosen in particular is a folk song with piano. I chose to change my video because I found it difficult to find people for my video and much preferred this song to the previous in regards to shooting ideas and finding ideas to shoot.

My proposal:

For this media project I propose to create a music video for this song sung by Jill Zimmerman, the music video will be mainly performance based with a few parts of the video linking with the lyrics. These parts I will shoot it a few different locations such as a forest(danby park/woods) Norwich, Eaton park Norwich (boating lake) City college Norwich studio. Then the rest of the video will be taken in ccn in the music room on the piano which will form the performance part of the video.

costume:
For the wood scenes I intent to use earth like colours such as greens and brown and for the Arctic scenes I will use lighter colours (cold colours) such as blues or whites.

These are my test photos for possible angles I could use in my music video, I have tried out different angles in order to maintain the audiences focus because I feel that if I do the same shot for most of the video this will loose the audiences attention and become boring. I have tried a birds eye view, over the shoulder shot, medium close up and an establishing show. However I think it would work better if I have even more of a variety such as close ups of the hands, and possibly even the face.

I have decided to change my song because I was finding it difficult to create a video to the previous song and felt I could relate more with a song by a female artist which would make me produce more ideas. The song I have changed to is a royalty free track by Jill Zimmerman called souls to fuse. The song to me sounds much about love because of her use of words 'we've' 'together' 'you' 'share' etc

I have chose to use these images for the artist and song I have chosen to do for my music video because the artist and song is quite indie and this is the style I would imagine the artist to be in to. I chose to put an acoustic guitar because if I was and most of the artists songs are acoustic. The background is of a festival because I thought it goes with the indie feel of the song and he would be an artist that would play at festivals. The mood board isnt complete, i am still figuring out what else would be good to have on the mood board and represents the style of the song or artist.

Possible front page for digipak idea

I have tested out a few ideas for the front page of the digipak, for this one i have chose to have a simple design. None of these images are my  own but this is only an idea when i do the real thing i will be taking images of my own for the digipak. The background is tie dye which i consider to be quite indie, i had chose blue tie dye for the male artist and i wanted it to be simple tie dye. I then chose to have the acoustic guitar to represent the genre of music that is is and then to go with the rest i have chose a simple font for the artists name and song title. If i was to improve on this i would include more on the page as i think it may be a little too simple and i would make the writing bolder so that it is more visible.
